Edward M. Felegi, 65, of Turkey Run, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Thursday evening.
He was born Oct. 13, 1948, at the former Locust Mountain State General Hospital, Shenandoah Heights.
Ed was a 1966 graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School and also graduated from Penn State University
with a degree in law enforcement and corrections.
He was a decorated Air Force veteran during the Vietnam era. Upon discharge from active service, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserves.
Ed had been previously employed at Dana Corporation, Reading, as a welder.
On July 21, 1979, in St. George Church, Shenandoah, he married the former Barbara Ann J. Stankiewitch, who survives.
He was a proud member and had been an active volunteer firefighter
for the Polish American Fire Company, Shenandoah. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers Union.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 34 years, are a daughter, Amanda Felegi Hall and her husband, Kerry, Saddle Brook, N.J.; a brother-in-law, Michael Stankiewitch and his wife, Lisa, Orwigsburg; two nephews, Michael and Matthew Stankiewitch, both of Orwigsburg; and many friends.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and private interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
