John J. Clay

John J. Clay, 54, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Monday morning at Allied Services, Scranton, where he resided.

Born in Pottsville, Aug. 25, 1958, he was a son of the late William and Josephine Padlock Clay.

John was of the Catholic faith.

He loved to dance to polka music and he enjoyed doing the chicken dance. He also loved to read books as well.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" Clay.

John is survived by two sisters, Ann Marie Kull, wife of David, Yacaipa, Calif., and Sharon Kreiger, wife of Ronald, Pottsville; three nieces, Denise Kull, Stephanie White and Brittanie Kreiger; and three nephews, David Kull, William Clay and Benjamin Kreiger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Inc., Sixth and West Market streets, Pottsville. The Rev. David J. Loeper will officiate. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Peach Mountain, Pottsville.
