Josephine "Jo" Snyder, 87, formerly of Ashland, passed away Sunday at home in Oviedo, Fla.
Born in Newton Hamilton, Feb. 24, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Kaufman Wharton.
She attended Coal Township schools and was a longtime member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland, where she taught Sunday school and actively participated in many church functions.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Oviedo.
Surviving are her husband, Daniel Snyder, Oviedo; two daughters, Judy and her husband, Carl Dellose, Wilmington, Del., and Jan Elicio, Casselberry, Fla.; three sons, Randall Snyder and his wife, Ruth, Ashland, Gary Snyder and his wife, Debra, Wallingford, and David Snyder and his wife, Heather, Holiday, Fla.; a brother, Earl Wharton, Mifflinburg; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany EC Church, 13th and Market streets, Ashland, with the Rev. Dennis Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Zion EC Cemetery, Pitman. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
