Martha A. "Marti" Cuff, 64, of Ashland, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at her residence.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Julia Zapatosky Kokinda.
She was a graduate of the former Immaculate Heart Academy, Fountain Springs, McCann School of Business and Penn State University
, where she received her degree as a paralegal.
She had been employed as a legislative assistant for the PA House of Representatives until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. James 1029.
Marti enjoyed spending time with her family on vacations, including Disney World and Ocean City, Md. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and her dog, Cassie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Kristin Cuff.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Thomas J. Cuff; a son, Thomas and his wife, Rachel, Reading; a daughter, Catherine and her husband, Dale Stanakis, Ashland; grandsons, Evan and Collin Stanakis, Ashland; a brother, Michael Kokinda and his wife, Carol, Pasadena, Md.; a nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, with the Rev. Robert T. Finlan, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Englewood, Frackville. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
