Melvin G. Kramer

Melvin G. Kramer, 84, of Boyertown, passed away Thursday at his residence.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, Oct. 6, 1929, he was a son of the late Edward and Elsie Messersmith Kramer.

A 1947 graduate of Mahanoy Township High School, he was formerly employed by Agway as a salesman.

He was the husband of Margaret Kehler Kramer, whom he married Oct. 21, 1950.

Melvin was a member of Pottstown Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Central Pennsylvania Gospel Band, where he played trumpet for many years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kramer; and an infant son, Ronald Melvin.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, James E. Kramer and his wife, Dawn, Shamokin; daughter, Patricia A. Stroop, wife of Howard, Pottstown; grandchildren, Adam and Grace Kramer, Brittany Stroop and Ryan Stroop and his wife, Elizabeth. Also, his great-grandchild, who will be born in June.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pottstown Church of the Nazarene, 1045 Beech St., Pottstown. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Marvin Paisley officiating. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Pottstown Church of the Nazarene, 1045 Beech St., Pottstown, PA 19464 or Tri-County Home Health and Hospice, 13 Armand Hammer Blvd., Suite 201, Pottstown, PA 19464. Interment will be Tuesday in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
