Michael T. Cooper

Michael T. Cooper, 83, of Minersville, passed away Saturday at ManorCare Health Services & Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville.

He was born in Cressona, Nov. 11, 1930, a son of the late Thomas and Kathryn Sukeena Cooper.

He was a graduate of Minersville High School and a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville.

Mike was a veteran of the Navy, serving four years with the U.S. Submarine Division. He worked in the modular home industry and was employed by the Minersville Area School District until his retirement. He was an assistant football coach and athletic trainer for the school district.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Jetta Reynolds Cooper; a son, Sean T. Cooper; a daughter, Nicole M., wife of Joseph Cuttitta; three grandsons, Michael, Tony and Cole; a sister, Ellen, wife of Frank Trasatt; and nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of family. Contributions in Mike's memory can be made to the St. Nicholas School Fund, 415 Front St., Minersville, PA 17954. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, has been entrusted with arrangements.
