Monte L. Kopp

Monte L. Kopp, 85, of Tower City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening.

Born in Tower City, March 3, 1929, he was a son of the late Mark and Ruby Geist Kopp.

He attended Tower City High School and graduated from Williamson Trade School.

A retired engineer from the former AMP Inc., from 1955 to present, Monty owned and operated his family farm.

Monte traveled the world establishing plants during his career with AMP Inc., living in Holland, Scotland and Japan.

He was of the Lutheran faith; a 53-year member of Sinim Masonic Lodge AF&AM, Tokyo, Japan; and a life member of the Northumberland and Point Township Sportsman's Association and the PA Farm Bureau.

He was an accomplished Blue Rock Shooter, traveling the United States for tournaments.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ruth I. Kroah Kopp; two daughters, Ruth Kopp Hagy, Dauphin, and Betsy Kopp York, Alexandria, Va.; a grandson, Michael York and his wife, Christine, Virginia; a sister, Betty Dean and her husband, Dr. William Dean, Geneva, N.Y.; and a sister-in-law, Ann Hollis Kopp, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin.
