Phyllis L. Witmer, 83, a resident of Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Pine Grove, passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Born Aug. 6, 1930, in Rausch Creek, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mamie Rager Koch.
Phyllis worked as a seamstress for the former Fox-Knapp Manufacturing Co., Pine Grove.
Phyllis was an avid reader and loved to bake. She liked going on day trips and to the horse races at Penn National Race Course.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant C. Witmer; three sisters, Thelma Heitz, Viola Lengle and Alma Bloch; four brothers, Wilson Koch, Lester Koch, James Koch and Garfield Koch; and her companion, Junior Stupp.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Beau Black, Reading.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove, with SALM John Ziegler officiating. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
