Robert R. Heim, 79, of McKeansburg, passed away peacefully Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Robert was born in McKeansburg, Nov. 13, 1934, a son of the late Kathryn A. Hettinger and Russell L. Heim.
He was the husband of Lillian Pales Heim. They were married June 26, 1954.
He was a Cressona High School graduate, Class of 1952.
He was the owner of Heim's Fruit Farm, a third-generation farm. He was also the owner/operator of B&B Trucking Contract Hauler for Agway Petroleum.
He was a member of Freidens Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ringgold, and served on the church council.
He was past president of Agway Petroleum Committee and a member of the Schuylkill County Cooperative Extension, serving as secretary, treasurer and president with six years of service. He was also a lifetime member of the New Ringgold Fire Company and Tamaqua Church Bowling League.
He enjoyed flying and was a private pilot. He was honorary farmer of Blue Mountain FFA VO-AG Program.
He was preceded in death by a sister, June Yost; a niece, Patricia Miller; and a granddaughter, Ashley Heim.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 59 years, are three sons, Bob L., husband of Tami Heim, Lancaster, John K., husband of Diane Heim, McKeansburg and Brian T., husband of Debbie Heim, Orwigsburg; his sister, Betty Jane, widow of William Quinn, Wilmington, Del; grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Garrett, wife of Steve, Joshua Heim, husband of Kari, Kendralyn Kennedy, wife of Joshua, Rebekah Heim, Alyssa Heim, Jonathan Heim, Daniel Heim and Angela Heim; five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Mackenzie, and Hannah Garret and Adelyn and Ellyanna Heim; nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Friday at Freidens Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Christ Union Cemetery, McKeansburg. The family desires that contributions in Robert's honor be sent to Freidens Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 65, New Ringgold, PA 17960. Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
