Ronald Kozura

Ronald Kozura, 77, of Bowie, Md., passed away suddenly Thursday at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Md., after a brief illness.

Born in Pottsville, Jan. 1, 1936, he was the only child of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Ruth Troutman Kozura.

He graduated in 1953 from Minersville Area High School, and then went on to graduate from Penn State University in 1959 with a degree in business.

In 1954, he met his future wife, Virginia Wood, whom he would eventually marry in 1957. The young couple moved to Levittown in 1957, where Ronald took his first job with the federal government at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.

In 1966, the young couple moved to Bowie, Md., where Ronald continued his career with the federal government. He was first employed at the Federal Reserve Board and eventually moved on to the General Accounting Office where he worked as a systems analyst until his retirement in 1993.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia; four sons, Donald Kozura and James Kozura, both of Bowie, Mark and Nancy (Gertz) Kozura, Hagerstown, and Steven and Sissel (Thoresen) Kozura, Crofton; two grandchildren, Erik and Adrian Kozura, both of Crofton; and two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Dorothy Gertz, Hagerstown.

Beall Funeral Home, Bowie, was in charge of arrangements.
