Rosemary "Bunny" Knowles

Rosemary "Bunny" Knowles, 87, of West Brunswick Township, died Friday at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven.

She was the wife of Austin Lincoln Knowles, whom she married Aug. 17, 1953.

Born in Allentown, May 14, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret Jane Wright deFuria.

Rosemary was a 1944 graduate of Allentown High School. She attended Kutztown State College for a year, Cedar Crest College for 3 years, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Latin and English, and then went on to study for her graduate degree at Lehigh University.

She was employed as a teacher of English and Latin for various schools for a number of years. After her career in education, she worked at Scott Paper Company in marketing research.

Rosemary was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of Cedar Crest Alumni Association.

Rosemary was predeceased by her brother, John Victor deFuria; and her sister, Margaret Dunan.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her daughter, Nancy Jane Knowles Frey; granddaughter, Ainsley, both of Orwigsburg; and great-granddaughter, Tallulah.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Good Shepherd Cemetery, 160 Tuckerton Road, Muhlenberg Township. Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc., Laureldale, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 3551 N.
