Lena Shadle Obituary

Lena M. Shadle, 80, of the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Hegins, passed away Thursday at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Saturday, Aug. 28, 1937, in Danville, a daughter of the late Walter F. and Thelma Masser Wiest.

She was a 1955 graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.

Lena was an executive secretary for the Schuylkill County Area Agency on Aging prior to her retirement.

She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

Her husband, Roger W. Poticher, passed away in 1981, and her companion, Roger Romberger, passed away in 2013.

She is survived by three daughters, Donna Swanson and her husband, Carl, Hegins, Cheryl Klinger, Harrisburg, and Karen Bressler and her husband, Tommy, Hegins; a son, Barry Poticher, Millersburg; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Wiest, Pitman; two sisters, Jean Bixler, Hegins, and Darlene Deeter, Hegins; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983.Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
