Alice Elizabeth Novack, 90, formerly of Kaska, died Friday at Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College.
Born in Seltzer, Oct. 8, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Orff.
She was a seamstress in the garment industry.
She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia, and ladies auxiliary of Kaska Fire Company.
She was an avid Phillies and Penn State fan, and a proud grandmother who was very active in the lives of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander J. Novack, in 2001; an infant son, Dennis; an infant daughter, Alicia; a brother, Fred Orff.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors included two sons, Edward, husband of Carol Novack, Pottsville, and Robert, husband of Judith Novack, State College; a granddaughter, Jessica Novack McKenzie, wife of Brandon, Pittsburgh; a grandson, Dr. Thomas Novack, husband of Dr. Meghan Novack, Bronx, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Novack, Philadelphia; a grandson, Alexander Novack, State College; a great-grandson, Shane McKenzie; nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc., Saint Clair. Funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia, with the Rev. Ronald J. Minner officiating. There will be no calling hours Wednesday evening. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, New Philadelphia.
