Anne Marie Hertz, 84, of Orwigsburg, passed away Wednesday at Weston Personal Care Home, Orwigsburg.

Born in Port Carbon, July 26, 1929, she was a daughter of the late George Leo and Mary Battersby Bobby.

She graduated from St. Stephen's High School, Class of 1949.

She worked as a nurses aide for Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven, for 18 years until retiring in 1991.

She was a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Port Carbon, and a former member of both the St. Stephen's Church Choir and Parents Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Cyril E. Hertz, in February 1988; son, John Hertz; brother, Jimmy Bobby; and sister-in-law, Ann Bobby.

Ann Marie is survived by sons, Cyril Hertz and his wife, Debbie, Kennett Square, James Hertz and his wife, Luz, Altoona, Thomas Hertz and his wife, Dawn, Schuylkill Haven, Joseph Hertz and his wife, Bonnie, Harrisburg, and Greg Hertz and his wife, Mary, Pottsville; daughters, Mary Ann Ebling and her husband, John, Saint Clair, and Patty Kelly and her husband, Rob, Bear, Del.; a brother, Joseph Bobby, Port Carbon; sister-in-law, Lois Bobby, Pottsville; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Saint Clair, with Monsignor William Glosser officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon. Interment will be held in St. Stephen Cemetery, Port Carbon.
