Audrey L. Gliem, 86, of Pottsville, passed away Friday at Schuylkill Center.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, Aug. 4, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Sadie Wagner and Samuel Claude Schaeffer.

She was the widow of Walter G. Gliem, who passed away Nov. 21, 2007.

She was employed by the garment industry in Pottsville for more than 35 years.

In addition to her husband, Audrey was preceded in death by brothers, Glenn, Bob, Dick and Jerry Schaeffer; and sisters, Elaine Bowles, Dorine Schuler, Delphine Heck and Mary Rattigan.

She is survived by a daughter, Gail A. Labarbera, wife of Peter, Pottsville; three sons, Walter G. Gliem Jr., husband of Janet, Biglerville, Bryon D. Gliem and Jeffrey A. Gliem, husband of Annette, both of Pottsville; grandchildren, Peter Labarbera and wife, Andrea, Wade Gliem and wife, Stephanie, Amanda Labarbera, Jared Gliem and Abby Gliem; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Logan and Harrison. Audrey is also survived by brothers, Claude "Firp," Dale and Bruce Schaeffer; and sisters, Joyce Herring, Pat Barnes and Shirley Williams.

Mom's warm smile, ability to make us laugh, the smell of home cooking and her unconditional love will be in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona. A viewing for family and friends will be held from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
