Charles H. "Chuck" Tripp Sr., 55, entered into everlasting life Saturday at his home in Orwigsburg, surrounded by his family.

Born in Pottsville, May 27, 1957, he was a son of the late Albert and Phyllis Klingeman Tripp.

He was a 1975 graduate of Blue Mountain High School.

He was honorably discharged from the Army.

He was last employed by Northeast Prestressed Products, the former Schuylkill Products Inc., Cressona, for 28 years until he became disabled in 2010.

He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Orwigsburg. He was also a member of Orwigsburg Borough Council, founder of Schuylkill Haven Water Rescue team and a state water rescue instructor.

He was a volunteer EMT for Orwigsburg Ambulance in his younger days.

He belonged to Schuylkill Lodge 138, Rajah Shrine, Schuylkill Shrine Club, Valley of Bloomsburg, Hospital Service Unit and was a member of the Schuylkill County Historical Society, Schuylkill Agricultural Museum, HCEA. He was a life member of Rainbow Hose Company, Schuylkill Haven, and a member of New Ringgold and Orwigsburg fire companies and the Fraternal Order of Police.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia; sisters, Ruth Nichols and Phyllis A. Brenneman; and a niece, Trisha Socko.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Marcia Stein Tripp; sons, Albert "Bert" Tripp and his companion, Erin Loftus, Schuylkill Haven, Charles Tripp (Annie), Colorado, and Patrick Tripp and Francis Burns, at home; a grandson, Nathan Tripp, Schuylkill Haven; granddaughters, Tanor Matukewicz and Calleigh Tripp, Orwigsburg; sisters, Earlene Socko (Stanley), Fern Jacoby (Kenneth), Candace Smith (Martin), Barbara J. Haupt and Lois Wessner (Robert); and a brother, William Tripp (Nancy).

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schuylkill Masonic Lodge, 1000 E. Market St., Orwigsburg. A Masonic funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Chuck's Life Service to follow with Pastor Lou Hornberger of Salem United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either Team Orwigsburg, c/o Salem United Methodist Church, 132 S. Liberty St., Orwigsburg, PA 17961 or Salem United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 113 S. Liberty St., Orwigsburg, PA 17961. Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., Orwigsburg, is entrusted with arrangements.
