Clarke E. Brown, 87, formerly of Frackville and Pottsville, died peacefully Saturday at Schuyl-kill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Charles and Fern Greenawalt Brown.

Clarke was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

He had been employed as a loan officer for the former Motor Loans, Pottsville.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville.

He was a member of Pulaski Lodge 216, F&AM, Pottsville, the Bloomsburg Consistory and Frackville Elks Lodge 1533.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lottie Withers Brown, in 2002.

He is survived by a cousin, Barbra Berger, Emmaus; and neighbors and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with the Rev. James Fidler, pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
