Deborah Jean "Debbie" Fernsler Kelly, 61, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully with her family and friends at her side Tuesday after a battle with diabetes, heart disease and other complications.
Born in Pottsville, she was the youngest of three children of the late John and Betty Bicht Fernsler.
She was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, Class of 1969.
She married Terrence "Terry" James Kelly on Dec. 2, 1969.
She was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She cherished her three grandsons. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends and looked forward to her trips to the Chesapeake Bay. The love she shared will continue to grow in the hearts of so many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Fernsler; and her mother- and father-in-law, Helen and Joseph Kelly.
In addition to her husband of 43 years, she is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Kelly and fiance, Thomas Denlinger, and Tara Bunteman and husband, Chad, both of Lancaster; her sister, Betsy Seaman, Pottsville; three grandsons, ET2 Thomas Stanton, Norfolk, Va., stationed aboard the USS Harry S. Truman, and Terrence J. "T.J." Palkowitz and Matthew Bunteman, both of Lancaster; and four nieces, six nephews, four great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday with memorial services to follow at 11 a.m. at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike Street, Port Carbon. Interment will immediately follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Hospice of Lancaster in lieu of flowers.
