Dolores R. Bowers Andrews, 89, passed away peacefully Jan. 7 at Legacy House Hospice, Ocala, Fla.
She was born in Pottsville, Dec. 22, 1924. Her parents were Charles Leo Bowers, a Pottsville native, and Florence Reifsnyder, a Tremont native.
At a young age, the family moved to Reading, where she grew up and worked mainly in the textile manufacturing plants in the area. She worked as a quality control and lab technician for Western Electric (AT&T), Reading, retiring in 1983, and then she moved to Ocala.
Through the years she enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Ocala.
Surviving are sons, Ed (Alice) Andrews, Petaluma, Calif., and Glen Andrews, Wake Forest, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jeff (Sophie) Andrews, Petaluma, Ashley (Chris) Edwards, Melbourne Beach, Fla., and Katrina An-drews and Bronek Andrews, both of Raleigh, N.C.; great-granddaughters, Samantha and Sasha Andrews, both of Petaluma; great-grandsons, Asher, Micah, Jesse and Shea Edwards, all of Melbourne Beach; nieces and nephews in the Reading area and Ocala and Fort Myers, Fla.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reiffton. A viewing will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
