Evelyn M. Goas, 90, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday at York Terrace Nursing Home, Pottsville, surrounded by family.

Born in Orwigsburg, Nov. 27, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Edith Heim Naus.

She was the widow of Marlin T. "Spook" Goas, who passed away in 2000.

She was formerly employed by Fessler Knitting Mill.

She was the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, past member of Schuylkill Hose Auxiliary and member of VFW, Pine Grove.

Evelyn was a member of First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elma Ney; brother, Richard Naus; and grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Neidlinger and Damian Michael Herndon.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Rollin "Mike" Naus and wife, Patricia, Schuylkill Haven; four daughters, Karen Sweigert, Schuylkill Haven, Beth Ann Gavaletz and husband, Dan, Florida, Susan Drey and husband, James Sr., Schuylkill Haven, and Jayne Herndon and husband, John Sr., Pottsville; grandchildren, Michael and R. Wesley Naus, Lisa Bott, Krista and David Sweigert, Jodi Thompson, Lora Heffner, James Jr. and Matthew Drey, John Jr., Jason and Robert Herndon and Amanda Koperna; 26 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Koch, Schuylkill Haven.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Dr. Christopher Fisher officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to York Terrace Activity Fund, 2401 W.
