James Kelly, 70, of Duck Street, Girardville, passed away Friday as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Born in Newark, N.J., July 7, 1942, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mary Brennan Kelly.
He owned and operated Kelly's Pub, Girardville, for 20 years until he retired. Prior to that, he was a lieutenant and firefighter with Lake Hiawatha Fire Department, Morris County, N.J.
He graduated from Boonton High School, New Jersey, and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Girardville.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and Bernard.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Wolfgang Kelly, Girardville; two sons, Michael, husband of Nancy Kelly, Girardville, and James P. Kelly Jr., Mount Bethel; a daughter, Kimberly, wife of Chris Ryshkewitch, Port Jervis, N.Y.; two sisters, Rose, wife of Robert Pruden, Ashland, and Mary, wife of Richard Cadwalader, Florida; a brother, Charles Kelly, Dominican Republic; eight grandchildren, James, Nicole, Michael, Patrick, Stephen, Justin, Julia and Sophia; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Girardville, with the Rev. Edward B. Connolly officiating.
