John J. Strenchock, 72, of Bloomsburg, formerly of Shenandoah, passed into eternal rest Saturday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late John and Stella Opanel Strenchock.

John had a career in banking and finance and was the owner of Quest Finance and Insurance Center, Berwick.

John was an Army veteran, having served in the reserves. He was true sports fan and an avid golfer, with many tournament wins. He was a member of the Mahoning Valley, Frosty Valley and Berwick country clubs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Harnatkavage.

John is survived by his two daughters, Jamie Lee Strenchock, Los Angeles, Calif., and Johnna Strenchock, Pleasant Hill, Calif.; his sister, Donna and her husband, Bernie Sanders, Shenandoah; nieces.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made, in John's name, to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
