Joseph Anthony Lewullis, 61, of Allentown, formerly of Ashland, died Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, from complications of pneumonia and multiple myeloma.
Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Anna C. "Nancy" Mooney Lewullis.
Joe was a graduate of the former Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs, and a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a degree in business and soci ology.
He was employed as a customer representative at PP&L for the past 29 years until taking ill. Previously, he was a probation officer for nine years with the Schuylkill County Courthouse, Pottsville.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Allentown, and was a former member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Ashland.
He loved to exercise, jog and spend time at the gym prior to his illness. He enjoyed helping people and seeing them succeed. Joe loved his mother and sister deeply and enjoyed vacationing with them in Virginia Beach.
Joe had many great friends that have been wonderful to his sister throughout his illness and in death.
Surviving are his loving sister, JoAnne P. Lewullis; and faithful companions, Teddy and Little Girl Honey; and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Allentown. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton streets, Allentown, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
