Louis Gittleman, 85, of Palm City, Fla., passed away Dec. 23, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital, Lake Worth, Fla.

Louis was born in Minersville, a son of the late Esther and Benjamin Gittleman.

Lou graduated from Minersville High School, Class of 1950. After graduating from Lebanon Valley College, Class of 1952, he began his career in the Army. After discharge, Lou worked in the energy department of the federal government. Eventually he became vice president of Mid Carolina Electric Co. Upon leaving, Lou accepted a position working for the World Bank. He was sent to Egypt for seven years as a representative to monitor the construction of the Aswan Nuclear Power Plant. Working in Egypt, Lou became a world traveler, visiting many countries before retiring to south Florida. He was of the Jewish faith.

He is survived by his wife, Claudette, Palm City, Fla.; son, Louis Gittleman (Kathy) Denver, Colo.; stepson, Arthur Framke; brother, David (Sylvia) Gittleman, Pottsville. Sadly missed by brother and family.
