Margaret M. "Marge" Hoenich, 93, of Minersville, died Sunday at Schoolyard Square Assisted Living Community, Pine Grove, surrounded by loving family and compassionate caregivers.

Margaret was born March 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Michael and Barbara Manura Kubich Sr.

She worked in the local garment industry as a seamstress for 46 years. In her childhood, she was a devout member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Saint Clair. In her adult life, she moved to Minersville with her husband, Clarence "Bud" Hoenich, where she became an active and faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Marge was involved with the Lutheran Church Women and chair of the Seminary Fund. She was also a member of the Minersville Senior Citizens. She dearly loved her family and was very involved in their lives, helping whenever she could and was available at a moment's notice for grandchild care. The past 5 1/2 years of her life she had resided at Schoolyard Square, making new friends with the staff and residents.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence J. Hoenich Jr.; a daughter, Diane Everingham; a grandson, Mark Eyerman; brothers, Michael, Charles, Joseph, Francis and John; sisters, Betty, 'Dolly' and Rosalie; seven siblings who died in infancy.

Margaret is survived by her son, Pastor Robert, husband of Nan Hoenich; a daughter, Carol, wife of Scott Winston; grandchildren, Dr. Alethea, wife of Daryl Wessner, Gwendalin, wife of Ben Moyer, Janelle, wife of John Guber, Jennifer, wife of Carlos Winston, Matthew Winston and Eric Eyerman; great-grandchildren, Sophia Calista, Shea, Isla, Emilia and Max; son-in-law, Ken Everingham and wife, Jan; stepgrandchild, Leslie, wife of Tom Burton; step-great-grandchildren, Lauren and Elise.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Minersville, conducted by synodically authorized Lay Minister Regnal Leibensperger. All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations made to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, is entrusted with the arrangements.
