Nancy M. Williams, 88, of Centre Street, Ashland, passed away Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born in Ashland, Feb. 7, 1929, she was a daughter of the late George and Marie Krah Neidhammer.

She was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, Class of 1946. She was employed for the Pennsylvania Unemployment Office, Shenandoah. Nancy later retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Pottsville, working as an income maintenance worker until her retirement in 1986.

Nancy was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Order of the Eastern Star 154, both of Ashland.

Preceding her in death was her husband, George Williams Sr., in March 10, 1978; a sister, Shirley Peek.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara, wife of William Kimmel, Ashland; a son, George Williams Jr. and his wife, Theresa, Ashland; a brother, G. Bertram Neidhammer and his wife, Gail, Riverview, Fla.; a granddaughter, Lori, wife of Peter Hess, Tamaqua; a grandson, William Kimmel, Ashland; great-grandchildren, Brett, Sarah, Daina, Victoria and Joshua Kimmel; nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs, with the Rev. Dana Heckman Biel, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland, officiating. Memorials may be made to Ashland Public Library Building Fund, 1229 Centre St., Ashland, PA 17921.
