Robert Allen "Butch" Clark Sr., Ringtown, passed away Sunday.

He was born at home in Phineyville, June 29, 1926, to the late George Leonard and Louise Elizabeth Bley Clark.

On Sept. 3, 1947, he married Clara Edna Brocious. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary September 2012.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Brandonville.

Butch was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in Germany and the Philippines from 1944-46.

For the majority of his life, he worked in the coal industry, from deep coal mining to heavy equipment operator. He also enjoyed working on the Bley family farm.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Butch was an original founding and lifelong member of Blue Knob Rod and Gun Club, Phineyville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Luther Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; and five children, Robert Allen Jr. (Linda), Ralph Harold, Diane Louise Shumway (Robert), George Luther (Cynthia), and Claraann Schultz (Ronald); 12 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one on the way.

There will be no calling hours.
