Robert C. Haag, 88, of Minersville, was called home by God on Friday morning.

He was a son of the late Albert and Florence Lord Haag.

A 1944 graduate of Pottsville High School, Robert was an Army Air Corps veteran during World War II, serving as a CFC gunner on a B-29 super bomber. He received the Air Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster), Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal (Three Battle Stars), American Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation (Oak Leaf Cluster), World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of technical sergeant at the age of 19.

He was employed by Boltz Knitting Mill, Pottsville, as a shipping supervisor until he retired.

Robert's greatest joy in life was spending time with his lovely wife and family.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Kiefer; and two brothers, George and Albert.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Marie Mistishun Haag, to whom he was married for 65 years; and two daughters, Sandra Lee Kramer and her husband, Elmer, Minersville, and Debra Jean Umbenhauer and her husband, Robert, Pottsville.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Dutcavich Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
