Rose M. Sacco, 99, a former resident of Ringtown and Shenandoah, currently residing in Douglassville, passed away Thursday.

Rose was born in Shenandoah, July 10, 1913, a daughter of the late John and Giovanna Amitrano Pancerella.

She attended the former Holy Family German Catholic school in Shenandoah.

Rose was a member of the Glovers Hill Club; Ringtown and Shenandoah Senior Citizens; Ringtown Quilting Group and the Pottstown Senior Circle.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah, where she was a member of the Sodality of the Church and the Catholic Daughters.

She and her husband, Nicholas, owned and operated the former Sacco's Bar and Grill in Ringtown from 1948 to 1975. At that time, they introduced submarines, pizza and Mardi Gras to the Ringtown Valley. They also owned and operated the Chuck Wagon in Ringtown during that time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Sacco, in 1987; a son, John Philip Sacco; and her brothers, Anthony, Neil, Joseph, Patrick, John, Angelo and Salvadore Pancerella; and sisters, Marie Tambasco, Barbara Tarutis and Carmella Fregoni.

Rose is survived by two daughters, Nancy, wife of Thomas Papaleo, Rochester, N.Y., and Angelica Sacco, Pottstown; and two sons, Eugene and his wife, Maria, Sheppton, and Nicholas and his wife, Annette, Shenandoah; a brother, Morris Pancerella and his wife, Julie, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, West Washington Street, Shenandoah, at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Monsignor Ronald Bocian officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the Mass at the church. Rose will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Rose's Memory. Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown, assisted Rose's family during their time of need.
