Samuel A. Leedom Sr., 54, of Minersville, died Monday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center – East Norwegian Street.
Born in Abington, he was a son of Laura J. Snyder Leedom Facer, Mount Carmel, and the late Samuel B. Leedom, who died in 1975.
He was a 1976 graduate of North Schuylkill High School and a graduate of Lincoln Tech, where he studied electronics.
He had been employed by Gould Pumps, Ashland, and later worked for Dana Corp. before becoming disabled.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers and had also been a member of the Washington Fire Company, Ashland, and the Ashland Gun Club.
Before becoming disabled, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Lynnette "Lynn" Lo gan, with whom he celebrated 23 years of marriage on July 1; five children, Cody Leedom, Minersville, Lynn Ann Barrett (Sean), Tennessee, Samuel A. Leedom Jr. (Wanda), Kentucky, Richard Leedom (Kim), Kulpmont, and Jennifer Schuck (Jeff), Tennessee; three siblings, Thomas Leedom (Janet), Helfenstein, Emma Ahrensfield, Mount Carmel, and William "Gino" Hoskin, (Cathy), Mount Carmel; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Joan Weiderhold officiating. Contributions to assist the family will be gratefully accepted at the funeral home.
