Samuel J. Vacante Jr., 52, of Drums, passed away Sunday evening.
Born in Hazleton, May 20, 1963, he was a son of the late Samuel J. Sr. and Josephine Stanziola Vacante. He spent most of his life in the Hazleton and Drums area.
Sam was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in engineering and worked as a machinist for Meadow-Burke, Humboldt.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially proud of his sons and future daughter-in-law. He was a member of the NRA, loved cars and motorcycles and was a talented artist.
Surviving are sons, Samuel C. and his fiancee, Sheila Barron, Hazleton, and Brandon A. Drums and his significant other, Jennifer Lyn Daley, Brandonville.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, 131 E. Fourth St., Hazleton. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements. My heart stopped when I heard this news.We just saw you and Jen at the casino a couple weeks ago.My heart is heavy the world lost another good person.I pray for his children and Jennifer that they can find some comfort in this horrific tragedy. Goodbye casino friend. Until we meet again...
