Stanley J. Bulcavage, 90, of Frackville, died peacefully Tuesday at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.
Born in Frackville, he was a son of the late John and Teofilia Yakimovich Bulcavage.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service and retired as the postmaster of the Frackville Post Office, a position he held for several years.
He was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Frackville.
He was a well known referee for both high school football and basketball games, for numerous years and was honored by his induction into the Jerry Wolman Chapter, Sports Hall of Fame of Northeastern PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, the former Florence Nothstein Bulcavage, in 2005; two brothers, Edward and Joseph Bulcavage; and two sisters, Stella Slovak and Ann Kraft.
Stan is survived by a son, S. David (Marilyn), Havertown; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass for Stan will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Second and Oak streets, Frackville, with the Rev. Robert Plichta, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, West Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.
