Eugene D. Dubbs, 77, of Tower City, passed away Sunday at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Good Spring, Jan. 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Williard J. and Marian Hain Dubbs.

Gene was a 1955 graduate of Tower City High School.

He was a retired truck driver, working numerous jobs including driving for PA Truck Lines and delivering mail to Washington, D.C.

He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, where he was in charge of the Sunday coffee social.

Gene was a 55-year member of Porter Tower Lions Club. He was also a social member of Williamstown American Legion and the Teamsters Union.

He served six years on the Tower City Borough Council.

Gene enjoyed spending time with his family and had a great interest in antique cars and trucks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Dorothy Gehres Dubbs; and a brother, Robert Dubbs.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Shreve Dubbs, with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on Feb. 22; son, Gene D. Dubbs, Tower City; daughter, Teri Ann Scheib and her husband, Brian Sr., Wiconisco; two grandchildren, Dennis J. Dubbs, Ohio, and Brian Scheib Jr., Tower City; great-grandson, Brian Eugene Robert Scheib; brother, Kenneth Dubbs, Delaware; sister, Carol Kohr, Palmyra; half sister, Bonnie Fortna, North Carolina; and stepsister, Betty Gehres, New York; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, officiated by the Rev. Linda Bonfiglio, followed by meal and time of fellowship. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 415 E. Grand Ave., Tower City, PA 17980. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, has been entrusted with arrangements.
