Rose Assalita Bridygham, 87, a lifetime resident of Reynolds, Walker Township, died Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in Reynolds, Walker Township, July 21, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Pietro and Mary Mariello Assalita.

A 1942 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Rose worked for the former Atlas Powder Co. for 45 years as a wire setter.

Rose was a member of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, Tamaqua.

She was known for her great sense of humor, meatballs and spaghetti.

Preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Anna Burns and Mrs. Lucy Shalanta; and brothers, Blase, Edward, John, Nello and Carlo Assalita.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Earl Bridygham Jr.; sister, Millie Swartley, Tamaqua; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, 266 W. Broad St., Tamaqua. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church. Interment will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, Tamaqua.
