Irene L. Piaskowski, 87, of 464 W. Main St., Ringtown, and formerly of 527 W. Centre St., Shenandoah, died Sunday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Oct. 14, 1926, in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Stasia Kolesinski.

Irene was a lifelong member of St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah.

She was a loving mother, homemaker and housewife, and later on in life she worked as a housekeeper for the Shenandoah Borough.

Her life passions were centered on taking care of her family and getting together with close friends for an evening playing bingo or a day trip to the casino. She also loved music and enjoyed watching polka shows on TV. Daily prayer, EWTN Mass and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy were part of her daily routine.

She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Stanley W. Piaskowski; a sister, Alfreda King, and a baby sister, Dorothy.

Surviving are two sons, Stanley Piaskowski and his wife, Marie, and Richard Piaskowski; a sister, Eleanor Johnson; seven grandchildren, Stanley and his wife, Angel, Aaron and his wife, Kristi, Kathy Jean Miller and her husband, Tim, Michael and his wife, Tiffany, Jeffrey, Stephen and Brenda Marie; two great-grandchildren, Makenna Nichole and Bryce; nieces and nephews; and best buddy, her dog, Willy.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah, officiated by the Rev. Jose Johnson. Interment will follow in the old St. Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Friends may call at the church from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., Shenandoah, has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
