Franklin R. Womer, 80, of Mush Dahl Road, New Ringgold, died on Saturday at St. Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem.

He was the widower of Elizabeth A. Bachman Womer, who died in 1983.

Born May 7, 1933, in New Ringgold, he was the son of the late Elbert, and Katie Daubenspeck Womer.

A Tamaqua High School graduate, Franklin had worked as a bus driver for the Northwestern Lehigh School District. Franklin was also an accomplished musician, having accompanied many professional acts who played at Ontelaunee Park, New Tripoli. He was skilled in playing the banjo, steel guitar, mandolin and piano.

Franklin is survived by a daughter, Diane M. Womer, and son, Kevin F. Womer, both of New Ringgold; sisters, Pauline R. Achey, Schuylkill Haven, and Helen M. Moser, New Tripoli; brother, Paul Womer, Kempton; many nieces and nephews.

Robert S. Nester Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, is in charge of arrangements. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Zion's Union Stone Church Cemetery, RD 2, New Ringgold. Registry and condolences may be signed at
