Geraldine E. "Jeanne" Facini, 89, of Drums, formerly of MaryD, Tamaqua and Sheppton, died Monday at Drums.
Born in New England Valley, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose Bryant Houser.
She was a 1942 graduate of Tamaqua High School. Prior to retirement, she worked for various garment factories in Tamaqua and Tuscarora, and also worked for MaryD Water Authority and was the assistant post master of MaryD Post Office.
She was a member of River Mountain Church, Sheppton.
Jeanne was a former treasurer and secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of the MaryD Fire Company.
She was an avid gardener and loved baking cakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph "Duffy" Facini, April 12, 2005; granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Folweiler; brother, William Houser; and sister, Ruth Schaeffer.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara Folweiler and her husband, James, MaryD, and Patricia Kaschak and her husband, Ronald, Sheppton, with whom Geraldine resided for 12 years; grandchildren, Jeanine Singley, Stephanie Speck, Jennifer Betz and Brianna Boyce; great-grandchildren, Justine Beltz, Derek Singley and Lucas Betz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with Pastor Thomas Sappie officiating. Interment will be at St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
