Dominick "Mickey" Taverna, 85, of McAdoo, died Monday evening at Statesman Health and Rehab Center, Levittown.

Dominick was born in Johnstown, a son of the late Joseph and Jennie Taverna.

He lived most of his life in Trenton, N.J., where he worked for the U.S. Post Office as a sorter until he retired.

Dominick was a military veteran of the Korean War. He liked the casinos and to play the horses.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Taverna, on June 15, 2013.

He is survived by a son, James Fell and his wife, Tania, Mahanoy City; daughters, Carolyn Messina and her husband, Angelo, McAdoo, and Diana Mackercher and her husband, Robert, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and sister, Rose Risoldi, Hamilton N.J.
