Harvey J. Reedy, 90, of Pottsville, died Saturday at York Terrace Golden Living Center, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, Jan. 16, 1924, he was the son of the late Harvey and Erma Brinich Reedy.

He was a 1942 graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville.

He belonged to several bands, including The Hillside Ranch Boys, The Twilighters and The Skyliners.

In 1947, Harvey opened and operated Hillside TV Service. He worked as a television repairman until retiring in 2012.

He proudly served our country in the Army during World War II, having been stationed in the South Pacific during the Battle of Guadalcanal.

Harvey is survived by his wife, the former June Achenbach, Pottsville; sons, Layne H. Reedy, Pottsville and Lance O. Reedy, Port Carbon; grandsons, Nathan and Christopher Reedy, Schuylkill Haven; sisters, Irene Witmer, Pottsville, Elaine Mataka, Pottsville, and Daneen Warfield, Pine Grove; a friend, Donna Hamblen, Pottsville and Yolanda Pratt, Bethlehem and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Sixth and West Market streets, Pottsville. The Rev. James Fidler will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service. There will not be any calling hours Wednesday evening. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer donations be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 316 W. Market St., Pottsville PA 17901.
