Daniel F. "Souch" Souchak, 58, of the village of Trenton, died suddenly Friday shortly after arrival at St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus, Coaldale. Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, he was a son of Frank Souchak, Trenton, and the late Dorothy Pryga Souchak.

He was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, was an Army veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 74 and St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, both of Mahanoy City.

He had been employed as a superintendent with Collinson Inc., Exton.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife of 34 years, the former Cheryl Budwash; a daughter, Nicole Smith and her husband, Tyler, Trenton; and a son, Jacob, Trenton, two sisters, Sandra Majetsky and her husband, Allen, Trenton, and Dorothy Datchko, Delano; two grandchildren, Christopher Kondash and Levi Smith; nieces, Justine Datchko and Rachel Majetsky; a nephew, Gavyn Datchko; and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Gary Mensinger at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will be held at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
