Anna Williams, 93, formerly of Frackville, passed away Wednesday at ManorCare Health Services.
Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late William and Anna Evans Irvin and Mary Gutekunst Irvin.
A 1938 graduate of Frackville High School, she worked at Bendix Aviation Corp., Philadelphia, for the war effort during World War II. She was employed at Sears, Roebuck and Co., Pottsville, and retired in 1981 from Ashland State Hospital as a cook.
Anna was a member of First United Methodist Church, Frackville, where she served on the altar guild and was active in the Women's Association. She was also a member of Frackville Senior Citizens, delivered Meals on Wheels and was an inspector and judge of the Southward Election Board.
She loved camping, reading and playing cards, and the joy of her life was her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Williams Sr.; and a brother, Robert Irvin.
Surviving are a son, Edward and his wife, Audrey, Ringtown; three daughters, Joan Davis and her husband, Bob, Athen, Texas, Gail Garman and her husband, Gary, Riverside, and Carol Neumeister and her husband, Scott, Orwigsburg; and two granddaughters, Crystal and her husband, Martin, Texas, and Kathleen Dunsavage, New York.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Frackville, with Pastor Sue Ketterer officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the memorial fund of First United Methodist Church, 25 S.
