Josephine V. DePauli Devlin, 94, formerly of Cumbola, died Saturday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

She was a daughter of the late Nathan and Domenica DePauli, formerly of Pottsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Devlin, who died in 1996. They had been married 54 years.

Among their most cherished memories was dancing to the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra and other big bands at Lakewood Park ballroom and other dance halls throughout Schuylkill County.

Josephine was a devoted mother and a kind-hearted person beloved by family, friends and neighbors.

Before retiring, she was a seamstress in a garment factory for about 25 years.

She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She attended Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia.

She is survived by three daughters, Beth Ann, with whom she had resided, Rose Ann, wife of Allen Frantz, Cumbola, and Maureen, wife of Albert Lubinsky Sr., Cumbola; a son, Ronald, husband of Mary "Dolly" Yelelavage Devlin, New Philadelphia; three sisters, Marie DePauli Micka and Anna DePauli Wychunas, both of Pottsville, and Laura DePauli Danatzko, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Albert Lubinsky Jr., Pottsville, David Lubinsky, Port Carbon, Angela Frantz, West Lawn, Christa Frantz Carey, Pottsville, and Daniel J. Devlin, Allentown; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan Lubinsky, Pottsville, Molly, Kate and David Lubinsky, Port Carbon, Gabriella Carey, Pottsville, and Rachel Fisher, West Lawn; and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be private at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer contributions to Holy Cross Church, New Philadelphia. James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc., Saint Clair, is in charge of arrangements.
