Edward A. Castetter, 77, of Pine Grove, died of natural causes Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon County.
Born in Shamokin, April 16, 1937, he was a son of the late Edward Castetter and Adele Kalkitus Coveleski.
Edward was a mechanic his entire life and owned Ed's Automotive in Kenhorst, retiring in 1999.
Edward served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 411 Birdsboro.
In addition to his parents, Edward is predeceased by a son, Darrell Castetter; and a brother, Stanley Coveleski.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Joan Barnes, Pine Grove. He is also survived by four sons, Edward, husband of Dianne Castetter, Schaefferstown, Dwayne A., husband of Darlene Castetter, Lynn, Mass., Kirk A., husband of Linda Castetter, Nahant, Mass., and Jonathan D., husband of Cynthia Barnes, Birdsboro; three daughters, Jo-Jean Violet, New Mexico, Robin Barnes, Ruther Glen, Va., and Michelle C. Nichols, wife of Mike, Spotsylvania, Va.; a brother, David Coveleski; two sisters, Joanie Beaver, Harrisburg, and Beatrice Perry, Shamokin; 18 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception BVM Roman Catholic Church, 905 Chestnut St., Douglassville (Union Township). A viewing will be held from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday before Mass at the church. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Dengler Funeral Home Inc. has charge of arrangements.
