Richard F. Nawrocki, 66, of Minersville, passed away peacefully Friday at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.

Born in Pottsville, Sept. 4, 1947, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Gzik Nawrocki.

He was the husband of Bernadette C. Heilman Nawrocki.

Richard was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville.

He was a graduate of Saint Clair High School, Class of 1966, and was a retired postman.

Richard served in the Army as a military policeman.

He was formerly active with Minersville Rescue Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Minersville fire police, Schuylkill County Bass Anglers Association and Port Carbon VFW.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Nawrocki.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Bernadette, are a son, Eric R. Nawrocki, husband of Corrine, Leesport; daughter, Kyra L. Nawrocki, Minersville; sister, Pauline, wife of Walter Kozlosky; grandchildren, Morgan, Sarah, Justin, Rachel and Logan Nawrocki; nieces and nephews.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville, with the Very Reverend Francis Twardzik, SDB, officiating. Friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, and also from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Ss. Peter & Paul Memorial Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home during calling hours. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, is entrusted with arrangements.
