Margaret Ann George, 53, of Ashland, went peacefully Wednesday to be with the Lord at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was comforted by her constant friend, David Hampton, in the last days of her short illness.

Born June 5, 1961, she was a daughter of Margaret Colihan Sedor, Mahanoy Plane, the late John Sedor.

A lifelong resident of Schuylkill County, she attended Mahanoy Area High School and received a degree in business at Williamsport Area Community College. She held several positions in the secretarial field during her working career.

She married Lester George, Ashland RD, in August 1986.

Margaret was an active member of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville, and the Holy Rosary Society of the church.

She was also a member of AFSCME and Ashland State Hospital Auxiliary.

In addition to her father, Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, John.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two sisters, Mary Sulick, Mount Carmel, and Kathryn "Kitty" Kropp-Kenenitz and her husband, Edward Kenenitz, Marion Heights; her godson and absolute light of her life, Kenneth Andrew Matthew Kropp Jr.; nieces, Julie and Christina; and a nephew, Joshua.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville. Interment will be private in St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Frackville. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J.
