Betty C. Wolfgang, 85, of Gordon Street, Gordon, passed away Friday at her home.

Born in Gordon, Feb. 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Catherine Johnson Wagner.

She attended Gordon schools and graduated from Ashland High School in 1947. She worked at the Gordon Dress Factory.

She was a member of Christ United Lutheran Church, Ashland, Gordon Senior Citizens and was a Den Leader and committee member with Cub Pack 180 and a committee member with the Boy Scout Troop 180/780 in Gordon for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. Wolfgang, who died Aug. 27, 1999. They were married Aug. 10, 1950.

A brother and sister also preceded her in death, Charles Wagner and Blanche Ringenary.

Survivors include a son, Larry Wolfgang and his wife Jean (Yarnell), Bozrah, Conn.; a daughter, Linda Shoop and her husband, Barry, West Point, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Daniel and his wife, Sherree, James and his wife, Lisa, and Christopher Wolfgang and Brandon and his wife, Jacinta, and Aubrey Shoop; three great-grandchildren, Patrick, Isabella and Sophia Wolfgang; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at Christ United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Lengert officiating. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at Christ United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland. Memorial contributions can be made to Christ United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland, PA 17921 or Hawk Mountain Council, BSA, 5027 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, has charge of arrangements.
