Earl F. "Zep" Zeplin, 85, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday at Broad Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.

Born on Nov. 11, 1931, in Ashland, he was a son of the late Earl and Jennie Balliet Zeplin.

Earl graduated from Ashland High School in 1949. He was an Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He worked for 45 years at Gould's Pump Co., formerly Goyne's, Ashland, until retirement. He was a member of the Washington Fire Company for 58 years, Ashland Little League for over 15 years, and the American Legion Post of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily "Jane" Zeplin, on July 7, 2016; a son, Roddy, in 2012, two sisters and a brother, Betty, Joyce and Raymond.

Surviving are a daughter and son, Leslie Lindenmuth and Jeffery Zeplin, both of Ashland; two brothers, James, and Wally, husband of Phyllis, both of Lancaster; daughter-in-law, Sheila Zeplin, Ala.; four grandchildren, Jessica, Keith, William, husband of Amy, and Shawn, husband of Jen; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Reiley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc, Ashland, with the Rev. Rose Marquardt officiating. Interment will be in Brock Cemetery, Ashland.
