Paul Philip "Nook" Gauntlett, 78, a lifelong resident of Newtown, Reilly Township, died Saturday morning at home.

Born in Newtown, March 16, 1931, he was the son of the late George and Anna Schreffler Gauntlett.

He was educated in Reilly Township schools. He was of the Catholic faith.

He was a veteran of the Navy, where he served in the Korean War. He worked most of his life at Guilford Mills, Pine Grove, retiring in 1993.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Minnichbach and Anna Frew; and two brothers, Charles and Thomas Gauntlett.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jeanne Daggett Gauntlett; a son, Paul Gauntlett and his wife, Theresa, Pottsville; two loving grandsons, Brent and Trevor, Pottsville; two adored granddaughters, Alyssa and Haley, Pottsville; a sister, Jeannette Houston, Tremont; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. The Rev. Adam Sedor will officiate. Relatives and friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
