Mrs. Karen L. Arndt, 61, of Friedensburg, died Tuesday at Geisinger Medical Center, Mahoning Township.

Karen was born in Pottsville, April 14, 1948, a daughter of the late William and Catherine Witman Mortimer.

She was the wife of William D. Arndt, to whom he was married 43 years.

She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, where she was past president of the alter guild and a former member of church council and Sunday school treasurer.

She was a secretary for Bill Arndt Plumbing and Heating, and the last two years worked at Hampton Inn, Pine Grove.

Karen was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, a member of Tennessee Walkers Association and Plaza Lanes Women's Bowling League.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Crystal Jones and her companion, David Lehr, Pine Grove; two sons, Noel D., husband of Anita Arndt, and Shawn E., husband of Denise Arndt, both of Cressona; a sister, Shirley Reber, Reedsville; five grandchildren, Bradley R. Jones, Kayla M. Jones, Eric M. Arndt, Cassey M. Arndt, Alyssa M. Arndt.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven. The Rev. Daniel Bell will officiate. A visitation with family will be held from 9:30 until time of services at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 252 Dock St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
