Beatrice E. Gormann Twardzik, 100, formerly of Shenandoah Heights, died Friday.

Born in Shenandoah Dec. 12, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Helen Gorman.

She was a member of St. George Parish, Shenandoah.

Beatrice was a graduate of Immaculata College, Philadelphia, and earned a teaching degree through Penn State University.

Beatrice was a school teacher at the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

After retirement, she and her husband, Henry, spent winters in Florida, where they enjoyed watching horse racing and spring training baseball games.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry J. Twardzik, in 1990; and four sisters, Nell, Marge, Jean and Alyce.

Surviving are sons, H. Patrick Ward and his wife Delene, Washington Borough, and James M. Ward and his wife, Barbara, Anaheim, Calif.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Interment will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., Shenandoah is in charge of arrangements.
